During your Derby Experience you'll see over 150,000 fans decked out in their Derby finery come through the twin spires of Churchill Downs. The festive silks, the hat parade, sipping on mint juleps (the drink of choice) and singing "My Old Kentucky Home" will make your experience at the "Run for the Roses" truly memorable.

On Wednesday, you may want to visit the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs or learn some history of a different sport at the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. Stroll along the Ohio River at Waterfront Park and take part in Derby Festival activities such as Winefest and the Great Steamboat Race. 

You'll spend Thursday afternoon on a scenic drive through Bluegrass country, touring thoroughbred farms such as, Margaux Farm, a working thoroughbred farm and home of thoroughbred stallions Cryptoclearance (sire of Volponi, 2002 Breeder's Cup Classic winner), and Devil His Due (sire of Roses in May) BREEDERS CUP RUNNER-UP KELA.

Thursday evening offers several entertainment options. The Pegasus Parade is a local favorite featuring giant balloons, celebrities and marching bands. While you're downtown, after the parade check out all the action on 4th Street Live, enjoy blues at Stevie Ray's and Zena's Cafe and of course, go star gazing at the Galt House (a Derby institution). Another great Thursday option is to spend the evening at John E's, a real Derby Horseman's place to eat, dance and get all the hot tips.

On Friday, don't dally too long, you'll want to get to Churchill Downs early to soak up the atmosphere and get acquainted with the area. "Clarence the Clocker," our own personal handicapper will give us his picks for the Kentucky Oaks, the big race of the day. After the races, when everyone is fighting the traffic, we walk into the 'hood for another great sample of the Louisville hospitality.

Saturday morning, put on your Derby bonnet and warm up your vocal chords, soon you'll be singing "My Old Kentucky Home" with tears in your eyes. It's a short ride to Churchill Downs for KENTUCKY DERBY 138. Sip a mint julep, make a wager on your favorite horse and watch the hats parade by. There's nothing else like the Kentucky Derby. After a great day at the races, stop in the 'hood for a cold beverage, then move on to enjoy a relaxing dinner, or keep right on celebrating if you picked the Derby winner.

Sunday, pack up your Derby bonnet and roses, it's time to say goodbye to the Bluegrass State and head home with memories of a special experience.
