CHINA
The Missionary Trail - Youth Tour
June 12-July 2, 2012
JOIN US AS WE FOLLOW THE MISSIONARY TRAIL
The tour begins with orientation at Camp Wapogasset in Amery, Wisconsin. We will then depart from Minneapolis, arriving in Shanghai, one of the entry points of the early China missionaries. On the tour will we explore Shanghai, experience the Yangtze River, spend some time in historic Wuhan and experience Sunday worship service in a Chinese church.
OUR ADVENTURE ALONG THE MISSIONARY TRAIL CONTINUES
Lutheran missionary, Daniel A. Nelson departed Shanghai and traveled west where he spent his first ten years of missionary work in Wuhan. In the late 1980's a railroad was built between Wuhan and Beijing. In 1901, Daniel Nelson arrived in Xinyang via the new rail system. We will board a train in Wuhan and experience the same route as Rev. Nelson, when he and his family traveled the same tracks to Xinyang, Henan, China.
TOGETHER WE'LL STAY ON THE TRAIL
Our China experience will take you to Jigongshan (Rooster Mountain) where the early missionaries built homes, a school and a church. Here we will witness the vision of China Service Ventures to provide a permanent home for a Christian youth camp on the mountain. We will take part in getting the campsite ready.
So come, not expecting a tourist trip, but instead, to discover your own potential to be an influence for Christ in our world.
